Olympian and World Champion Lanny “Oakley” Barnes to Represent Team USA at IPSC Rifle Worlds 2024!
USPSA has announced the USA Team that will be attending the Rifle World Championships in Oulu, Finland, from July 30th to August 10th, 2024. At 71 members, this is the largest USPSA Team ever to represent the US Region. “We are honored to have Olympian and World Champion Lanny Barnes as our Flag Bearer for this prestigious event.”.
This marks the 3rd Rifle World Shoot, which stands as the highest level rifle match within IPSC. The competition consists of 30 stages spread over six days, challenging competitors with approximately 500 rounds fired over distances ranging from one yard to around 300 yards. Scoring for this event follows a format similar to USPSA matches, utilizing low hit factors to determine rankings.
The Rifle World Shoot has a short but notable history, with the inaugural event held in Moscow, Russia in 2017, followed by the second championship in Sweden in 2019. Now, in 2024, the shooting world turns its attention to Finland for what promises to be an exceptional display of marksmanship and competitive spirit.
